- A: For most soil types, you can push the pointed end directly into the ground by hand or with a light hammer. For harder ground, you may need to pre-drill a pilot hole. Ensure it is inserted deep enough for stability (typically 20-30cm). If using a separate spike, drive the spike into the ground first, then insert the marker shaft into the spike’s receptacle.
- Q: Will it break if run over by a heavy truck or in extreme cold?
- A: Fiberglass maintains its flexibility across a wide temperature range. It is designed to survive being run over by passenger vehicles and light trucks. While a very heavy vehicle may permanently bend it, it is unlikely to shatter. In extreme cold, it becomes slightly less flexible but retains its spring-back property far better than plastic, which becomes brittle.
- Q: Can the reflective sleeve be replaced?
- A: On most models, the reflective sleeve is a separate component that slides over the shaft and is secured with adhesive or a locking ring.
